Fond memories created in one of the Adirondacks’ most remote locations

Whether it’s spring brook trout (above) or autumn bucks in 1969 (below), the author and his predecessors enjoyed many good years in the backcountry of the West Canada Lake Wilderness, one of the Adirondacks’ more remote locations. (Photos by Don Wharton)

The West Canada Lake area lies at the head of three Adirondack water-sheds: the Cedar River, the West Canada Creek and the Moose River. This makes it a relatively high general land area and somewhat of an Adirondack weather pocket.
