Montello Lake known for its largemouths, panfish in Wisconsin’s Marquette County

In 2024, the local Wisconsin DNR fisheries crew ran a one-night electrofishing survey on Montello Lake to gain some insight and direction for future fisheries management work.
The primary objectives were to characterize species composition, relative abundance, and size structure. The following report is a brief summary of that survey, including the general status of the fish populations and future management options for Montello Lake.
