This year’s avian influenza outbreak isn’t a factor behind proposed reductions to the 2025-26 Canada goose season in Pennsylvania, but biologists have noticed something unusual.
Each year, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, along with the states in the Atlantic Flyway, meet to establish federal frameworks for migratory game bird seasons. States must set their seasons within the federal frameworks, although there is some flexibility.
