Owatonna, Minn. Plans to improve the water quality of Geneva Lake will be the topic of discussion at an open house on Jan. 17 from 7-9 p.m. The meeting will be hosted by the DNR and the Turtle Creek Watershed District Board.

Loss of water quality has contributed to a decline in waterfowl using the area, officials say. Carp also are to blame for loss of aquatic vegetation, according to Jeanine Vorland, DNR area wildlife manager. Those who’d like to comment on the rehabilitation plan but cannot attend the meeting may call Vorland at (507) 455-5841.
