Bear kill could top record

Associate Editor Grand Rapids, Minn. With the possibility that a few more bear kill registrations could trickle in, Dave Garshelis, DNR bear specialist in Grand Rapids said the 2001 black bear harvest could top the record set in 1995, when 4,956 bears were killed.
