Stocked lakers, splake are a hit on Golden Lake in Iron County, Michigan

Iron County’s Golden Lake has a healthy smallmouth bass population. However, anglers simply targeting just bass are doing themselves a disservice as the lake also features a robust lake trout and splake fishery.
Michigan is home to hundreds of deep, cold, glacial lakes that are ripe with a variety of trout, and Golden Lake is one of them.
