Who could have imagined that a little girl dressed up like Annie Oakley would one day hold the highest volunteer position in natural resource management in Michigan – chair of the state Natural Resources Commission?
That’s exactly what happened to Hillman resident Carol Moncrieff Rose.
Along the way she volunteered for countless conservation-related positions and activities. For her tireless commitment to conservation and the management of Michigan’s vast natural resources, Carol Rose is the 2024 Michigan Outdoor News Person of the year.
