Steve Cooper shuffled his feet across the thick, course field of grass, also looking down and across the massive field of green that helps make up the world’s second-largest outdoor shooting range.
“To think,” said Cooper, “this is the same stuff as when Camp Perry started hosting the National Matches in 1907. That grass is over 100 years old.”
