Schroon Lake in New York debuts self-serve boat washing unit to prevent spread of invasive species

A self-serve, mobile boat cleaning unit is available to boaters on and around Scrhoon Lake in Essex and Warren counties this summer. The solar-powered device is known as the CD3 Cleaning System. (Photo by Don Lehman)

A new weapon was put in place this spring to prevent invasive species from getting into a Southern Adirondack watershed thanks to a collaborative effort between public and private partners in two counties.
