About 10 years ago, a small group of people from the Lake of the Woods area began an effort in education, promotion, and enforcement in keeping trash and human waste off of the ice Lake of the Woods. This group is known as “Keep It Clean.”
Fast-forward, and today there are more than 30 local (lake-focused) groups around the state of Minnesota that have joined the effort. This expanded group has been busy behind the scenes, working on a variety of items that ultimately will lessen the amount of trash and human waster entering our waters.
