Nature Smart: Huge (and pink) spoonbills

Roseate spoonbills get their pink color from foods they eat: crustaceans and other aquatic invertebrates.

While guiding a photo tour in Florida recently, we captured some amazing images of one of North America’s most stunning birds, the roseate spoonbill (Platalea ajaja).
