At this time, there is no evidence of bears reproducing in Iowa and no active research is being conducted by the IDNR since the bear is not listed as a species that can be monitored. If HF 175 passes and is signed into legislation by Gov. Kim Reynolds, the possibility for oversight through formal research exits.
