The Minnesota DNR Division of Enforcement enlists the help of conservation K9s to detect zebra mussels, helping to keep state waters safe from the spread of this aquatic invasive species.
As of Sept. 9, based on the infested waters list, 398 lakes and wetlands have confirmed the presence of zebra mussels. The DNR also has 302 water bodies listed as infested with zebra mussels because they are closely connected to waterways where the species have been found.
