Not state records, but New York anglers catch summer trophies

Thus far in 2026, there have been no freshwater fishing records broken in New York State. But there’s still plenty of fishing time left in the season.
Meanwhile, there have been some notable catches across the state. On the morning of June 25, Zachary Blakeney, 17, of Avon, in Livingston County, got an early start.
