Although I had previously used shrimp while fishing for whatever was biting during a few vacations along Florida’s Atlantic coast, it wasn’t until I went out with a few Sandusky Bay catfish guides that I saw shrimp used in freshwater.
I fished for channel catfish and bullheads for many years using nightcrawlers, garden worms, leeches, and commercial stink baits and caught plenty. It never dawned on me to “waste” shrimp by using them as catfish bait.
