Wisconsin’s wolf damage coffers running low

Through July 26, Wisconsin wolves had killed at least 16 calves, 10 dogs, five chickens, one cow, one miniature donkey and one goat.
That includes at least seven calves, five hunting dogs and a cow killed between July 1 and 26, plus a pet dog and a calf injured. Now it appears that funding for livestock and pets killed by wolves claims in July – and others that occur the rest of the fiscal year – may be deferred to the following fiscal year unless some timely grants come through for the Department of Natural Resources.
