Video interview with Minnesota DNR’s Nate Huck on optional three-duck bag limit proposal

This week, the Minnesota DNR proposed a new 3-bird, any-duck bag limit option for state waterfowlers. The agency is taking comments on it through Aug. 17, and if the DNR moves on the idea, it would apply to the 2027 duck hunting season.

If implemented, waterfowlers would have the option between the traditional 6-bird bag where they must abide by sex and species limits, or a 3-bird “splash duck” limit where hunters would be limited to three birds, but they could include any species or sex.
