Look, I’m all for focusing on a species – applying highly specialized techniques that target a particular fish’s behaviors, tendencies, and vulnerabilities. When you’re a bit of a gear junkie like me, it’s a built-in excuse to accumulate tackle for every possible situation. It’s fun to dial it in.
But there’s also a lot to be said for dialing it back, too. Just go fishing. Fish for what? Whatever.
