Funding shortages might curb fish stocking efforts for Michigan DNR

Officials from the Michigan DNR’s Fisheries Division say further cutbacks on staffing and fish stocking are likely as only restricted, one-time funding was included in the state budget adopted earlier this month.
Jim Francis, the coordinator of the Lake Erie Basin at DNR, said Fisheries is already struggling.
