Least bittern eggs hatch in Kane County, Ill.

Eggs that made up a least bittern nest discovered in Kane County last month have hatched and produced chicks, according to a report by the  Forest Preserve District of Kane County.
The least bittern is a threatened species in Illinois. The unique-looking bird was fairly common in the state in the late 1800s.
