As a father of two kids who love to fish, I see the benefits of Pennsylvania’s mentored youth trout day firsthand.
But there’s another perspective to consider. The purpose of the youth day is clear: give kids a chance to fish for stocked trout before the opening-day crowds. By doing so, they stand a good chance of catching a few fish, having a positive experience and hopefully become lifelong anglers. What could be wrong with that?
