Wisconsin DNR’s Hunter Ethics award goes to man who helped save red-tailed hawk

Josh Astell, of Fort Atkinson, was awarded the 2025 Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Ethical Hunter Award for an act in 2025.
The annual award, started in 1998, goes to a Wisconsin hunter from a list of nominations submitted by the public to a four-member selection committee; usually for a single act taking place in Wisconsin during the previous year.
