Last year, State Assembly Rep. Jenna Jacobson (D-Oregon) and State Senator Jeff Smith (D-Brunswick) introduced what they called a “CWD prevention package” containing three bills that aimed “to combat, monitor, and increase awareness around chronic wasting disease (CWD).”
Those bills ended up dying in committee and did not make it to the desk of Gov. Tony Evers, but Jacobson said the bills could return during a future session.
