New habitat, public lands available northwest of metro in Minnesota

It has become increasingly rare for conservation groups to acquire public land for outdoor recreational use as you get closer to the Twin Cities metropolitan area. But that’s precisely what happened recently in Wright County, roughly 30 minutes north of Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Nearly 400 additional acres – one state wildlife management area and one federal waterfowl production area (WPA) – were added to existing public lands and are now open for business.
