Steve Carney: How to handle windy early season fishing

From my view on the water, opening weekend in Minnesota was tough for most anglers mainly because the wind was so horrible. After Saturday’s opener, I felt like I went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson.
I’d spent the day on a very small lake in Pope County, around 300 acres, thinking it would be wind-proof… ummm, no.
