Flood project dispute slows progress for conservation projects in Minnesota

Rep. John Burkel, R-Badger, offered an amendment to change the hiring process for the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council executive director.

The Minnesota House Legacy Finance Committee failed to advance a funding bill for the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council on April 15 after lawmakers fell short of the required votes, delaying support for future conservation projects.
The committee took up HF3879, authored by Rep. Samantha Vang, DFL-Brooklyn Park, but the bill did not receive enough support to move to the House Ways and Means Committee and was laid over for possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.
