It’s no secret that the Lake Erie Central Basin yellow perch population has fallen off a cliff. It’s a ghost of what it was before 2015.
According to the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, the multi-government supported entity charged with monitoring and protecting Great Lakes fisheries, Ohio sportsmen caught an average of 434,373 pounds of perch per year in the Central Basin during the five-year period 2010-14.
