The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) issued 15,245 bear harvest authorizations (kill tags) for the 2026 fall bear season. Some of those recipients are considering a transfer of their tag to a qualified person.
Qualified recipients include minors, defined as a person less than 18 years of age at the time of the transfer application. A tag may also be transferred to persons with a valid class A, B, C or D disability permit, a person serving on active military duty, or someone who has been awarded a Purple Heart Award.
