Pheasant madness in March can be had at Wisconsin game preserves

During a spell of freakishly mild March weather in Wisconsin, I joined friends to hunt pheasants on two game preserves: Cackle Creek in southern Dodge County, and On the Fly in Fond du Lac County.
Neither outfit charges a membership fee, which makes them good options for spur-of-the-moment hunts from September into April. A breezy, clear morning greeted Clark Williams, Mark Krueger, and me as Dan Johnson welcomed us to On the Fly.
