Team USA goalie Connor Hellebuyck showed Michigan roots and his love for bass fishing during run to gold

Connor Hellebuyck played the game of his life during the gold medal game of the 2026 Winter Olympics on Feb 22. But the fish on one side of the Michigan native’s helmet caught nearly as much attention – at least from fishermen who tuned in to the Olympics.
The right side features a bald eagle in flight, and the left has a bit more personal touch with a largemouth bass.
