Wisconsin bear in Shell Lake forced to exit den after early melt

The bear that made an early appearance in Shell Lake recently must have missed the Groundhog’s Day memo. Or does a bear in a tree mean the arrival of an early spring? For whatever reason, a bear’s new resting spot wasn’t in a den, but in a tree along Hwy. 63 near the Shell Lake school.
