The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission is monitoring the fish produced at its state hatcheries for levels of forever chemicals, and the matter has caught the attention of state lawmakers.
During the Feb. 4 House Game and Fisheries Committee meeting with the agency’s Executive Director Tim Schaeffer, Rep. Dave Maloney, R-Berks, asked about the situation at the Benner Spring hatchery.
“I understand that there’s a tremendous concern, at least out at one of the hatcheries, with forever chemicals,” said Maloney.
