Nature Smart: A predator vs. predator encounter

Tekiela snapped this image at 300 yards of a red fox in Yellowstone National Park that killed a long-tailed weasel. He doesn’t see it often afield, but sometimes wild predators must kill other predators to eat and survive.

An experience I had yesterday illustrated for me again that nature can never be predictable, or understandable. I am writing to you from cold, snowy Yellowstone National Park, where I am in the middle of leading two groups of photographers on a winter wildlife photography adventure.
