Upland and waterfowl hunters looking for a new puppy have a lot of options when it comes to breeds, but it pays to think through the decision. Selecting a rare breed just to be different can come with a sacrifice on performance, health, or temperament. This isn’t always true, but if you’re on the hunt for a new puppy and are dead set on not choosing a common breed, prepare to tackle some real research so you don’t choose a bad match for your lifestyle and hunting preferences.
