I can’t quite get a bead on this Minnesota winter. When it roared in over Thanksgiving weekend, I got a pit in my stomach. I was sure we were in for a crusher. Another half-foot of snow piled on, and that was all the proof I needed.
It got cold – real cold – and I wasn’t surprised, but I was starting to brace myself for the carcasses I’d find come spring. Then it stopped. The sun came out, the snowpack settled, and things didn’t seem so bad.
