The data have spoken and so have the officials. A plan of action has been drafted to set the process in motion. Restoring a species that disappeared from one of the Great Lakes, no small feat when you think about it, even if it is just the Western Basin of Lake Erie.
Travis Hartman, Lake Erie Fisheries Program Administrator for the Ohio Division of Wildlife, along with his staff, led by Eric Weimer, fishery biologist supervisor, and various hatchery staff, are working to determine what is possible with sauger restoration.
