Michigan’s hunter safety program received a huge boost just days before Christmas.
That’s when House Bill 4285, sponsored by Rep. Curt VanderWall (R-Ludington), was signed into law by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. HB 4285 requires the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to work together to develop a firearms safety course for students in grades 6-12.
