Rare fisher caught on trail camera in Cleveland Metroparks

The sighting of a fisher is said to be first in more than a century in this area of northeast Ohio. (Stock photo)

Biologists at Cleveland Metroparks are excited about the sighting of a rare fisher on a wildlife camera earlier this year.
Fishers are animals in the same family as weasels, mink, martens, and otters, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). WJW TV in Cleveland first reported that Cleveland Metroparks highlighted the new discovery in an Instagram post in early December.
