Allen Lake State Forest has something for hunters and anglers alike in western New York

While the Allegany County tract is sizable and offers some fine hunting opportunities, within the state forest is Allen Lake itself, a 58-acre impoundment that draws its share of anglers, notably in the spring when the lake is stocked with trout.
