Ohio’s whitetail bowhunt harvest lags a little from last year’s kill

Ohio archery hunters checked 46,359 white-tailed deer through Sunday, Nov. 2, which includes the first six weekends of bowhunting, according to the Ohio DNR (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. The 2025-26 statewide archery season began on Saturday, Sept. 27, and continues through Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026.
Deer checked in this year include 22,205 bucks and 24,154 antlerless deer.

Allegations of baiting, trespassing surface against Pennsylvania game warden

Just before the deadline for this week’s print issue of Pennsylvania Outdoor News, a spokesman for the Pennsylvania Game Commission confirmed that the agency was aware of serious allegations made against one of its game wardens in the southeastern part of the state.

Access lost to sweet spot for steelhead at Pennsylvania’s Manchester Hole on Walnut Creek

Public access to one of Erie’s most popular steelhead fishing spots appears to be gone or severely hampered because of repeated angler misconduct.
A key property on both sides of the Manchester Hole on Walnut Creek has been posted by the owner after years of problems with litter, trespass and other offensive behavior. He and two neighbors reportedly were affected.
