Deer are by far the most common animal caught on camera traps in an ongoing statewide survey that has provided several rather unusual glimpses of Illinois’ wildlife.
Researchers have seen a female bobcat and her yearling trying to cross rough waters after severe flooding at the bottom of the state. They’ve also observed a female opossum carrying four young on her back.
