On Oct. 29, the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s Atlantic Striped Bass Management Board met to finalize Addendum III to Amendment 7 to the Interstate Fishery Management Plan for Atlantic Striped Bass, which included a proposal to adopt a 12% reduction in the commercial quota and recreational landings.
After nearly two hours of debate, the majority of the Management Board opted against reducing harvest.
