Taking time for a father-and-son fishin’ mission during a Minnesota fall

In all the times we’ve fished together, my son has lobbed untold thousands of questions. Only one has really stuck with me: “Dad, why don’t we ever catch any walleyes?”
“Because we don’t fish for them. We’re bass fishermen.”
He should know that by now. To borrow from that theme, while there were several hunting seasons open during Minnesota’s long MEA weekend, he and I went fishing instead.
