Gary was perfectly fine with not bringing home a moose on our Newfoundland hunt last month. It was that good of a hunt, that good of an adventure, from the arduous trip itself to the daily trudging across the spectacular landscape to the endless glassing in an effort to find a bull.
It had been, in fact, a great week, one that actually stretched into two with travel to the island and then back home, lengthy drives parlayed with ferry crossings for me and flights from Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Deer Lake, Newfoundland, and back for Gary as he avoided his customary motion sickness.
