Collision with moose kills vehicle operator near Denali Park in Alaska

A driver was killed and a passenger in his car injured after their vehicle a moose near the entrance to Alaska’s Denali National Park and Preserve.
The vehicle’s collision with the moose occurred around 1 a.m. Aug. 1, just south of the entrance to the Denali Park Road near Mile 235 of the George Parks Highway, also referred to as the Parks Highway, park officials said in a statement.

Agencies testing ‘bait platforms’ to catch Asian carp in Pool 8 of the Mississippi River

Scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey, in collaboration with the Minnesota and Wisconsin departments of natural resources, will install floating bait platforms and monitoring equipment to test a new method for capturing invasive Asian carp.
The equipment will be in place until Oct. 3 in Pool 8 of the Mississippi River, near La Crosse, Wis.
