Likely around mid-August, the Minnesota DNR will increase the limit of walleyes an angler may take from two fish to three thanks to state anglers harvesting only about 22% of its allowed take.
Despite that change, the Mille Lacs Fisheries Advisory Committee members and DNR officials don’t expect the state’s kill to increase significantly with the slot remaining the same – now allowing three walleyes 17 inches or larger but only one over 20 inches.
