Pennsylvania hatchery improvements lead to more trout being stocked

The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission stocked over 3 million adult trout this spring across the state, including 86,500 more than last year, due to hatchery and stocking improvements. (Photo courtesy PF&BC)

Thanks to a few improvements made at Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission hatcheries, anglers had nearly 90,000 more stocked trout to catch this year.
That news was delivered to the agency’s Fisheries and Hatcheries Committee at its July 8 meeting by Doug Hess, southern fish production manager for the commission.
“I think it’s been one of our best seasons,” he said.
