An increased limit coming on Minnesota’s Mille Lacs? Walleye take at one-fifth of state quota

For the second season in a row, the Lake Mille Lacs state-angler walleye kill remained at the end of June far below a quota set during state DNR-tribal co-management negotiations last winter. The difference: A year ago, open-water fishing remained catch and release only through mid-August, after which two fish were allowed to be harvested.
This year, the regulations allow for the keeping of two fish (17 inches or greater, and only one of them may be over 20 inches).
