The Illinois Legislative Audit Commission in late May held a hearing to discuss a recent Auditor General finding that wasn’t flattering to DNR and its management of state historic sites.
An interesting aside to the audit hearing were hints by DNR Director Natalie Phelps Finnie that the state may be willing to have some state sites converted to national parks. The topic was brought up in a question by State Rep. Charlie Meier, R-Okawville.
