Legislation to establish a sandhill crane hunting season in Wisconsin was introduced to the State Senate March 7 and the State Assembly March 11. The process to get the proposal this far began in Horicon Aug. 1 when the 2024 Legislative Council Study Committee on Sandhill Cranes held its first of five meetings.
Numerous presentations on the pros and cons of sandhill season were made to the committee during the meetings.
